Zille at the Broadcast TechFest 2025 in London

A day of deep dives into the world of cloud technology within the media industry

Zille Co-Founder and Managing Director Idunn Sofie Riise shared her industry insight on the panel "What Producers Need to Think About Using the Cloud" at the Cloud Innovations Forum in London.

She was joined by Pete Mercer from Warner Bros. Discovery and Sam Lempp from FilmLight, with the panel being moderated by Max Miller from Broadcast Tech.

"As a cloud-native application provider, the biggest benefit our clients have experienced is that of being able to collaborate remotely with a global workforce, without compromising on security."

Idunn Sofie Riise, Zille Co-Founder & Managing Director

The event brought together industry leaders, tech innovators, filmmakers, producers, and broadcasters to discuss and demonstrate how cloud solutions are revolutionising film and television production, distribution, and consumption.

Addressing the conversation from the perspective of localisation and accessibility, the benefits of the cloud are undeniable. When cost and time are of the essence – and quality should still prevail – then benefits such as real-time, remote collaboration, integrated AI engines and easy scalability can make all the difference.

"I thoroughly enjoyed the event and was so happy to connect with others in the industry who are also seeing the very real benefits of operating in the cloud.
When we founded Zille in 2020 it was exactly with these kinds of solutions in mind. Most of the technology we access as end-users really is via the cloud these days – why should it be any different for the media industry?"

Idunn Sofie Riise, Zille Co-Founder & Managing Director

The conversations of the day gave a fascinating insight into a broad and comprehensive set of use cases, offering takes on topics such as security, geographical and political implications and the different ways in which a set-up can play out financially.

Having leadership on your side and expert competence as part of a cloud transition was a key-takeaway which several panellists came back to.

Best of all was the variety of success stories – it's fantastic seeing the industry realise the possible benefits of the cloud and already gearing up for what comes next.
