Sonia is an experienced and passionate audio description professional, dedicated to making media and entertainment more accessible to individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Her career spans over a decade, during which she has worked across a wide range of platforms including television, film and digital media.
Through her precise, evocative narration, Sonia brings stories to life for audiences who rely on audio description to fully engage with visual content.
MPS required a secure, cloud-based solution that worked quickly and reliably to help them meet optimal output requirements under tight deadlines. Additionally, the tech needed to offer a space where they could work collaboratively, flexibly and efficiently together.
Their existing solution had certain technical restrictions and challenges in terms of functionality and pricing structure, and MPS were also restricted in their options due to their high security requirements.
High security requirements limited MPS in which technology they could use and how content could be shared. As a result, freelancers often faced limitations, including having to record over placeholder video with no audio, since the actual media could not be safely distributed. This highlighted a lack of functional flexibility in the existing workflow.
Convoluted workflows, underpinned by multiple types of technology and repeated format conversions, created a general infrastructure which did not support MPS efficiently in their work.
The software in use lacked scalability to meet MPS' requirements, and freelancers were unable to access it remotely.
